Nighttime Snowfall
Nighttime snowfall, another dimension
This land is other worldly
Just an expanse of white
Oh how I need this night!
Quiet, Dark, and Magic
Only the whisper of the wind
And the flutter of snowflakes
My own footsteps too loud to bear
Tamarack like a skeleton looming large
Illuminated by the solitary upstairs light
Pastures bedded in fluff
As if enveloped in a down comforter
This land is like a tomb
Silent, Cold, and Damp
Or maybe like a womb
Peaceful, Comforting, and Soft
Can it not be both?
I want to be a snow angel
To lie down and sleep forever
My heartbeat the only sound I hear
As snowflakes land softly
Like butterfly kisses on my cheeks
